Jersey City’s mayor is the latest elected Democratic official to support John Currie for party chairman.
Mayor Steve Fulop is slated to issue a statement today throwing his full support behind Currie for a full term as Democratic Party chairman.
“We join in support of Chairman John Currie for a full term as State Chair of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee,” Fulop said. “We are confident in John to lead the party at this important time in state politics. His proven leadership and success throughout the years is the solid stewardship the party needs.”
Currie, who heads the Passaic County Democrats, is seeking a full two-year term of the state committee. He was named as a compromise candidate last June after Barbara Buono’s backing of Assemblyman Jason O’Donnell caused friction.
