Hamilton’s firefighters are backing Mayor Kelly Yaede’s campaign.
The Professional Firefighters Association Local 84 and the Professional Fire Officers Association Local 284 announced their endorsement of the Republican’s campaign Friday.
“Our relationship with Mayor Yaede is one of trust and understanding,” wrote Robert Layton, president of Local 84, in a letter to memebrs. “She understands the needs of the firefighters to get the job done and keep the public safe. She has proven to be a mayor that leads from the street and takes a proactive role in keeping the community safe.”
Yaede is being challenged by Democratic opponent Barbara Plumeri.
