The Senate Minority caucus had a scheduled huddle this morning with Gov. Chris Christie.
Sources say the front office wanted to throw an arm around state Sen. Thomas Kean, Jr. (R-21) to show fellowship in light of what happened two weeks ago in the Senate when the governor unsuccessfuly sought to depose the Senate minority leader.
The governor doesn’t want another loss on the heels of his short-circuited effort to depose Kean.
Sources close to the meeting say the governor wanted to make sure that Republicans stay together and prevent the senate as a whole today from overriding his veto of the pig crate bill.
