Silva visits Statehouse to lobby DREAM Act

Her campaign may not have been successful, but that doesn’t mean she plans to fade away.

Democratic lieutenant governor hopeful Milly Silva was among the more than dozen officials who appeared in the Statehouse today to advocate for the DREAM Act. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Teresa Ruiz, is slated to be heard in a Senate panel.

Silva lost her bid to be New Jersey’s second in command to the governor after Gov. Chris Christie won re-election over Democratic hopeful Sen. Barbara Buono.

Silva, a union executive, spoke on behalf of SEIU 1999.
