Lee Solomon, Board of Public Utilities president until he returned to the Camden County bench in December 2011, was named assignment judge there today.
Solomon supplants Judge Faustino Fernandez-Vina, who ascended to the state Supreme Court this week.
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner, in making the announcement, said that Solomon “has earned the admiration and respect of colleagues across various disciplines for his ongoing efforts to ensure that service to the public is responsive and efficient.”
Solomon’s successor at BPU, Robert Hanna, was nominated to the state Supreme Court by Gov. Chris Christie in December 2012 along with David Bauman but their nominations have languished without a Judiciary Committee hearing in the Senate.
