N.J. unemployment rate falls to 7.8 percent

TRENTON – New Jersey’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month, according to the latest figures from the Department of Labor.

According to the Department of Labor, the state experienced its largest monthly dip on record after employers in the state added 16,900 jobs in November and the unemployment rate fell from 8.4 percent the previous month.

Private sector employers added 14,100 jobs and public sector employment grew by 2,800 jobs, according to the data.
