TRENTON – The Senate concurred with the governor’s DREAM Act veto by a vote of 27-7, with six senators not voting.
The compromise bill, passed in the Assembly today, then conditionally vetoed by Gov. Chris Christie, was then OK’d on concurrence by the Senate.
Voting no were Republicans Anthony Bucco, Chris Connors, Michael Doherty, Kevin O’Toole, Joseph Pennacchio, Steve Oroho, and Robert Singer.
Not voting at all were three senators who were absent: Republicans Jennifer Beck and James Holzapfel and Democratic Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, as well as three senators in attendance at today’s session: Democrats Jeff Van Drew and Ron Rice and Republican Joe Kyrillos.
The bill then went to the Assembly for concurrence.
