Dasha Zhukova’s Garage magazine announced recently that it would soon begin Garage Editions, commissioned works from well-known artists for sale at affordable prices, and the first, by Urs Fischer, recently went live on the art start-up Artsy (where Ms. Zhukova and Observer Media Group board member Josh Kushner are investors).
The piece (seen to the left) has a Fischer studio assistant with literal egg on his face. A steal at $2,000, an edition of 99 with 18 artists proofs. Sales benefit the educational initiatives at the Garage Center of Contemporary Culture in Moscow.
“We are fortunate to work with today’s most groundbreaking artists and influential fashion photographers, who create imagery for the magazine that is highly conceptual and unique,” Garage Fashion Director Charlotte Stockdale wrote in an email. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to offer limited editions of their works for everyone to collect. I couldn’t think of a better artist to start out with than Urs Fischer.”
