RH Contemporary Art, a foray into the gallery world by the home furnishings company Restoration Hardware, will hold a show focusing on 12 Chinese artists, all from Beijing or Shanghai, at their Chelsea outpost starting Jan. 31.
The artists included in the exhibition are Gao Weigang, the Gao Brothers, Hu Qinwu, Li Hui, Meng Zhigang, Ni Youyu, Pan Jian, Qiu Anxiong, Qiu Deshu, Yan Bing, Yang Yongliang and Zheng Chongbin. In conjunction with the show, RH Contemporary will produce six original documentaries on the participating artists. The second issue of the gallery’s art journal, which debuted along with the space last fall, will be released in late February.
