Cory Booker, U.S. Senator
Strengths: He could cut and paste quotes from Jonathan Livingston Seagull in every answer he gives for the next number of years and still – to the infernal exasperation of peers – leave a single public impression: an inspiration.
Weaknesses: Coming off one of the most insipid campaign performances of all time last year, Booker left questions about battle-preparedness. Not that he’ll need that in a supposed war with Jeff (1978) Bell.
Prognosis: Booker is that South Jersey panic button option if Sweeney gets stalled or derailed by Fulop. As noted earlier this week by PolitickerNJ reporter Matt Arco, if Booker occupies Hillary Clinton’s short list of VP candidates, he’ll wait that out before zig-zagging, a la Jon Corzine, from the banks of the Potomac to the Delaware.
