NJGOP alums duking it out in Alaska

Behind a pair of Republicans in Alaska dueling it out for a U.S. Senate seat are two former New Jersey GOP spokesmen who are now going toe-to-toe in The Last Frontier.

Ben Sparks, who recently left his position as an NJGOP spokesman to work with Alaskan GOP Senate hopeful Dan Sullivan, is facing off against former NJGOP spokesman Rick Gorka, who took leave from the Garden State in 2011.

Gorka left his post as an NJGOP spokesman to work on former Gov. Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign before Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell hired Gorka last year to be a spokesman on his U.S. Senate campaign.

Sparks’ first full day on the job was Monday.
