Key power players in the Democratic Party establishment this afternoon coalesced around West New York Commissioner Caridad Rodriguez for the office of Hudson County freeholder.
A former assemblywoman, Rodriguez is challenging incumbent Freeholder Jose Munoz, who was the feds’ star witness last year against Mayor Felix Roque in a federal hacking trial.
Roque beat the rap, and now he wants Rodriguez to beat Munoz.
Along with the mayor, Rodriguez has the backing of U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8), state Sen. Nick Sacco (D-32), Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32).
