NJ Transit’s executive director announced he’s leaving the agency at the beginning of next month, according to a letter sent to staffers.
Executive Director Jim Weinstein resigned as head of NJ Transit effective March 2. Weinstein was tapped by Gov. Chris Christie to lead the agency in 2010.
“I have submitted my resignation to Governor Christie and will be leaving NJ TRANSIT effective March 2, 2014,” he wrote. “As I depart, I want to thank you for your dedication, hard work and support during a turbulent time. Your efforts have gotten us through the challenges of these last four years and for your efforts and commitment I will always be grateful.”
