Goldberg submits petitions for U.S. Senate race

TRENTON – West Orange businessman Brian Goldberg submitted more than 1,400 petitions with the state Monday to challenge U.S. Senate incumbent Cory Booker (D-N.J.).

Goldberg, who manages his family’s concrete business, submitted 1,459 petitions in an attempt to seek the GOP’s nomination to challenge Booker. At least two other Republican candidates submitted petitions earlier today.

“We’re obviously focusing on the primary,” said Goldberg when asked to provide some insights into the next step of the campaign.

“It’s one more phase of the campaign behind us,” he said.

Earlier today, college professor Murray Sabrin and Jeff Bell submitted petitions for the GOP’s endorsement.
