Hudson County Freeholder Doreen DiDomenico is retiring following the completion of her current term, local Democrats announced Friday.
DiDomenico, who was elected in 2007, and served as chairwoman of the freeholder board.
“Doreen always fought for all the First Freeholder District,” Bayonne Democratic Chairman Jason O’Donnell said in a statement. “She was a frequent voice for the disadvantaged, senior citizens and our families. She will be missed.”
Ken Kopacz, a local principal, will run on the Hudson County Democratic Organizational line.
