Darby English, the director of the research and academic program at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Mass., has been tapped by the Museum of Modern Art to be a consulting curator, focusing on American and European art with a particular emphasis on the work of black artists. He will continue in his role at the Clark Art Institute.

“My conversations with MoMA’s staff and trustees have left me deeply impressed by the Museum’s commitment to address this area reflectively and responsibly,” Mr. English said in a statement. “I couldn’t be happier to begin this relationship.” He starts at the museum this month.
