Running in the 3rd Congressional District’s Republican Primary, former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan reported $301,688 in total contributions for the period starting Jan. 1st of this year and ending on the 31st of last month, according to the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
The movement conservative candidate for Congress who last year ran for U.S. Senate, Lonegan has $172,054 cash on hand, but also reports $161,209 in owed debt, according to the federal report.
The candidate received $105,681 in itemized contributions and $191,007 in unitemized contributions.
By contrast, Lonegan’s opponent in a fast-developing GOP Primary, which so far has featured a grueling, negative air war, former Randolph Mayor Tom MacArthur raised over $2 million in the 1st Quarter and $1.75 million cash-on-hand.
A retired millionaire CEO, MacArthur personally contributed $2 million to his campaign account.
