The Taipei Biennial released the artist list for its 2014 edition today, and it’s a strong one, including young guns Alisa Barenboym, Ian Cheng, Camille Henrot, Rachel Rose and Anicka Yi alongside established figures like Joan Jonas, Sterling Ruby and Haegue Yang. Nicolas Bourriaud is at the helm of the show, which runs Sept. 13 through Jan. 4, 2014 at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and throughout the city.

The full list of 51 artists follows below, but if you have a moment, may I humbly suggest that you pay a visit to some of the archived websites for Taipei Biennials past? They’re all pretty great, but I’m particularly into the one for the 2000 exhibition, “The Sky Is the Limit,” which features a thumping soundtrack and animated visuals that just gave one of my colleagues a modest seizure, and the one for the 1998 show, “Site of Desire,” which has a fresh, spare look to it.
