Having near-singlehandedly transformed Dumbo from a rat-infested, industrial ghost town into a tech hub with some of the borough’s priciest real estate, Mr. Walentas has settled his gaze on South Williamsburg, setting in motion plans to redevelop the iconic Domino Sugar facility as a green mixed-use community. After a brief standoff with the new administration, Mr. Walentas’ Two Trees Management reached an accord with Mayor de Blasio in March, exchanging promises to build additional affordable housing at the Domino site for more space and financial incentives.
