Life’s a Beach: New Yorkers Discover They’re Surrounded by Water

Bonus: Beaches have wifi?!

Memorial Day weekend — that special time of year when Manhattanites admit to envying their West Coast friends … before suddenly realizing they live on an island.

It’s been just under two years since Superstorm Sandy threatened to eradicate our watery playgrounds, and despite some area closures and snafus, people made the annual journey to the outskirts of the city once again in search of sun, sand, and salt water.

This being New York, people went with iPhone in hand to capture all the special moments along the way.
