See All Brooklyn Influencers

The literary agent Susan Golomb represents such luminaries as Jonathan Franzen and William T. Vollmann. That she is now based in Brooklyn—she moved there in 2010 after two decades in Manhattan—is no small thing in an industry dominated by Manhattan-based agencies. But Ms. Golomb is not alone—David Black, for instance, whose clients include Jimmy Breslin, Mitch Albom and the late Joe McGinniss, moved his agency to Brooklyn four years ago after 21 years in Manhattan—and their presence bolsters Brooklyn’s reputation as a literary powerhouse.
