If anything is true about new technology, it’s that it will either be used to sell your personal data — and it will be used for porn. In the case of virtual reality platform Oculus Rift, plans for the latter are already well under way.
Online porn rental service SugarDVD told VentureBeat yesterday that they’re developing a virtual reality app that will stream porn right to your eyeballs, putting you in the, er, drivers seat for a “choose your own adventure” experience. You know, in case your interactive video game porn wasn’t immersive enough.
“We already have these options for DVDs and movies with alternate ‘endings’ depending on what the viewer chooses,” a SugarDVD representative told Venturebeat, “so we are looking forward to integrating those features into VR.”
SugarDVD says it will pick beta testers from their subscriber base, shamelessly confirming the promotional nature of the announcement. They hope to debut the app at the Electronic Entertainment Expo next month in L.A..
