Belgard clinches CD 3 Democratic primary

Democratic congressional hopeful Aimee Belgard won her party’s nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-3), according to the Associated Press.

Belgard, a Burlington County freeholder, will challenge the former Randolph Mayor Tom MacArthur in the right-leaning district.

She defeated Howard Kleinhendler and Bruce Todd.

The AP called the race for Belgard after she received nearly 80 percent of the vote with more than 41 percent reporting (3,044 votes).
