New Jersey Assemblyman and Union County Democratic Committee Chairman Jerry Green today announced he will convene a special meeting of the members of Union County Democratic Committee for the purpose of selecting a Democratic candidate for County Sheriff to appear on the ballot for the November 4th general election.
Date: Thursday, September 4th
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Galloping Hill Caterers, 325 Chestnut Street, Union
“While this will undoubtedly be for many of us a somber occasion given the circumstances of how the vacancy occurred, it is also our responsibility to select our party’s standard bearer for County Sheriff,” said Green. “I have provided written notification to all members of the Union County Democratic Committee, and I trust they will make every effort to be at this important meeting.”
If there are members of the public interested in screening for the position, they must supply a written letter of intent along with a resume via email to info@UnionCountyDems.com no later than 5:00 pm EST on August 29, Green said.
Veteran Assemblyman Joe Cryan (D-20) has the edge to succeed the late Sheriff Ralph Froehlich.
