Victoria Beckham may have just opened her very own boutique in London, but she’s not planning on giving up her place on New York Fashion Week’s roster.
In an interview with Elle magazine, she said:
“I’m very proud to be from London. I love British fashion, and I’ve dreamed of having my own store in London since I was a little girl… But for Fashion Week, I like being in New York. I’ve been there for 16 seasons, and I get a great time slot, which works for me. Maybe at some point I’ll do something during LFW in the store, but leaving New York? Eh. Sometimes though you have to recognize when you’re lucky, and I have a good thing going there. Now’s not the time to move.”
We don’t blame her. When Mrs. Beckham showed her spring and summer 2015 collection on Sept. 7, Anna Wintour, Eva Chen and Miroslava Duma were all in attendance — who’d want to rock that boat?
Mrs. Beckham didn’t stay away from NYC for long after, either. To raise awareness for children who are born with HIV, she appeared here yesterday to address the United Nations. She even skipped out on the opening of her store to help the cause while husband David stayed in the UK and tended to the grand opening.
We’ve asked Mrs. Beckham’s people whether the citizens of New York will be lucky enough to see a VB store open in our city, but haven’t heard back yet. In the meantime, here’s her SS2015 collection.
