Grand Jury returns superceding indictment against four rabbis in kidnapping case

A federal grand jury today returned a superseding indictment against four Orthodox Jewish Rabbis, one of their sons, and a sixth man for allegedly conspiring to kidnap and force Jewish men to grant their wives religious divorces.

The superseding indictment adds one new defendant, Mordechai Eichenthal, 54, of Brooklyn, to the previous indictment earlier this year.

It also adds one new substantive count of kidnapping to both Mendel Epstein and Binyamin Stimler.
