Lt. Gov. Guadagno breaks wrist and elbow, will be hospitalized overnight

TRENTON – The governor’s office announced on Thursday that Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was injured in a fall.

“Earlier this morning while riding her bicycle in Sea Bright, Lieutenant Governor Guadagno stopped suddenly to avoid a vehicle and fell from her bike,” said Kevin Roberts, Gov. Chris Christie’s spokesman, in a written statement. “She was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where she was evaluated and admitted for treatment. The fall resulted in a broken wrist and elbow. She’s alert and in good spirits and will be staying overnight for routine observation.”

Christie is presently out of the state, which makes Guadagno the acting governor. Guadagno remains acting governor despite her injury, according to Roberts.  Lt. Gov. Guadagno breaks wrist and elbow, will be hospitalized overnight
