Mount Laurel Dems file ELEC complaint against GOP rivals

The Mount Laurel Democrats running against local Republican candidates Dennis Riley and Richard Van Noord have filed a complaint with ELEC, alleging that the GOP team violated state campaign finance laws by failing to disclose more than $40,000 in contributions and more than $9,000 in campaign spending that they are required to do so by law as of October 6.

The Democrats say several direct GOP mailers went out and $30,000 in television advertisements purchased. Additionally, they discovered that a $30,000 contribution came from the Mount Laurel Republican Party Committee, which has not filed a report with ELEC since April of 2013.
