Gov. Chris Christie is in Washington, D.C., where he reportedly told newly-elected House Republicans at a luncheon this afternoon to focus on getting things done post-midterm elections.
According to The Record’s Herb Jackson, via comments newly-minted CD3 Rep. Tom MacArthur made to reporters following the closed-door meeting, Christie “talked about the importance of winning and then governing, simple as that.”
“Don’t gloat. Get the job done that the people sent us here to do,” Jackson quotes MacArthur saying.
The 90-minute event on Capitol Hill was organized by the Committee on House Administration, which sets up freshman House orientations. Christie did not stop to speak to reporters while entering or leaving the meeting.
