Drew Barrymore (Actress)
“I spent so many Thanksgivings with other people’s families or took it as an opportunity to check out and do my own thing. Now that I have my own family all I want to do is be with them. Each year it’s a little different on the cooking but I love to put bacon all over my turkey … so good.”
Alison Brod (Publicist)
“Dinner in the Hamptons in my glass kitchen with one of every pie that the Mecox farm stand has to offer.”
Donald Robertson (Artist)
“On the set of Wes Anderson’s next movie. Whatever it is and wherever it is.”
Ryan Schinman (CEO)
“The setting is based in my Llewellyn Park, N.J., home with the beautiful leaves changing color all around the house. In addition to my immediate family, I would also like all four of my deceased grandparents to be there. Shane Lyons of Distilled would cater everything but the dessert, which I would leave up to my wife who loves to bake, and candy for the kids from Sugar Factory.”
Kara Ross (Fashion Retailer)
“To me, the perfect Thanksgiving consists of three pivotal components. 1. Family: I must be completely surrounded by the entire family from both sides. 2. Table: I always create a seasonal table setting that plays off the traditional Thanksgiving meal and helps us remember the true message of the holiday. 3. Conversation: I insist that everyone participate in the conversation, so I distribute personalized questions that each person at the table must answer.”
Rachel Roy (Fashion Designer)
“A dream Thanksgiving meal would be in Florence atop the Forte di Belvedere, which offers a postcard-like view of the city. Every single angle and view is more beautiful than the next. My guests would include Russell Brand and Chris Rock—they’re both intelligent yet incredibly funny, Lionel Richie and his partner Lisa, Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid, Deepak Chopra and his wife Rita … and many more. Turkey is not a favorite of mine so the menu will be Tuscan style with different dishes from local mom and pop-owned restaurants throughout the countryside. We would share a dry red from the region along with a full-bodied white for those that prefer. I like the idea of creating a tradition of traveling with my children at Thanksgiving and exposing them to new cultures.”

“My dream Thanksgiving dinner [this year] would include my two small children, husband, and group of our closest friends and family. We would be tucked away seaside at our Nantucket house, with a menu comprised of locally-sourced organic dishes and limited email access.”
Nicole Miller (Fashion Designer)
“I am always happiest doing the cooking myself and having family and close friends over. I have some favorite dishes that I always make such as Paul Prudhomme’s Turducken cornbread dressing and creamed spinach. Even though I have had some fun Thanksgivings in Jamaica, Tulum and St. Bart’s, I am always happier at home.”
Yoana Baraschi (Fashion Designer)
“My dream Thanksgiving dinner would include my family—my two daughters and husband, all elegantly dressed. We would be having the most exquisite dinner in the penthouse garden apartment of my daughter’s godmother. We’d enjoy four marvelous courses starting with pumpkin mousse and apple soup. The meal would be a pleasure for all senses and a joyful celebration of the heart repeating itself every year, for the past 15 years. Every year we are more grateful for it!”
Jamie Lewin (Designer of Piperlime Collection)
“My dream Thanksgiving is to be with my closest family and friends at our house. We have so much fun creating a five-course tasting menu complete with wine pairings every year. This year my husband and his brother are going to deep-fry the turkey outside in our backyard. The best part about everyone coming to us is that we don’t have to deal with holiday travel!” ν
