The Next Wave: 9 Names to Watch in PR

Lynn (Brodsky) Hason, 26 owner, LAB Media Group
Lynn Hason’s newish seven-person firm specializes in three Fs- food, fashion, film. The 26-year-old left NYC’s Full Picture PR, where she repped Frederic Fekkai and Flywheel Sports, among other lifestyle brands. (Photo credit: Lynn Hason)
Erica Gianchetti, 30, CEO & Founder, Slash-PR
If there’s a red carpet, she’s likely on it. This former partner in LA’s Pivotal Public Relations came East to launch Slash in May. Among her clients: big franchises like Maxim Superbowl and Lucky Shops.
Kyle Giunta, 28, Senior Vice President, Finsbury
The youngest SVP at Finsbury, Giunta was lured by Partner Ed Adler after the latter left Time Warner Inc., where they both toiled in PR. Mr. Giunta’s big-deal clients include AppNexus – the world’s largest independent ad tech company -- Nielsen, Waller Capital, ridesharing app Via, online classifieds platform OLX, and more. Kanessa Tixe, 30, Founder, Dynamic Theories
Ms. Tixe’s Dumbo-based firm reps talent, luxury brands, lifestyle and fashion brands, hospitality, real estate and non-profits. Tixe claims her work for +POOL -- the world’s first floating pool -- “has impacted the public by making it the most successful public-funded project through publicity.” Now reps cast members of Orange Is The New Black, Jane The Virgin and Boardwalk Empire. Tanya Scalisi, 29, Account Supervisor, J PR
At 29, Ms. Scalisi’s a travel-PR veteran with golden media connections; snagging her was a coup for upstart J PR. A glimpse of clients past and current: Jumeirah, Fairmont, Westin, Gansevoort, Borgata, Bowery and Jane. (Photo credit: J Public Relations)
Erin Brunner, 25, Senior Account Executive, Think PR
Ms. Brunner oversees the coveted W Hotels account for Think, where she’s toiled since 2013. In college, she took a PR-focused study-abroad trip through the Middle East and Europe to pow-wow with high-level execs. That kind of drive — and guile — makes us eager to see where she’ll go next.
Christopher Maggio, 27, Account Executive, GREY
Marriott’s sweet, smart LGBT-themed “#LoveTravels” campaign was partly overseen by Mr. Maggio, who also works for the Canon account for Grey Activation & PR. His resume includes stints at Quinn and Harrison & Shriftman.
Jaclyn York, 25, Senior Account Executive, Magrino Agency
At her young age, Ms. York knows liquor. At Susan Magrino Agency she reps clients including Moet Hennessey Estates & Wines and Hendrick's Gin. Her biggest accomplishment? “The day FloFab finally responded to one of my pitches and called my desk. I saw ‘Florence Fabricant, New York Times’ on my caller ID for the first time.” We have a feeling it won’t be the last.
Will Davis, 24, Account Executive, Nadine Johnson
You’ve probably heard of the Gilded Lily and The Monarch Room—two of Mr. Davis’ accounts at Nadine Johnson. His other accounts include LA Chapter, and Happy Ending. Mr. Davis has also worked on countless fashion related events. Be nice to him so you can stay on guest lists. (Photo credit: Lena Xiao)
