Tracye McDaniel is leaving Choose New Jersey for a new job opportunity in Texas.
“It is with both a heavy heart and a good deal of excitement that I write to tell you that I will be leaving Choose New Jersey early next year to serve as president and chief executive officer of the Texas Economic Development Corporation,” McDaniel wrote in an email that she sent to friends earlier today.
“… This opportunity is a clear validation of all that we were able to accomplish together in the last four years, helping the Partnership for Action with the recruitment, expansion and/or retention of 60 corporate operations that accounted for more than 12,600 jobs and nearly $1.4 billion in capital investment – including investments by Allergan, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, First Data Corp., Orexo, Sandoz, Shiamak and Valeant/Bausch + Lomb,” she added.
Texas Governor-elect Greg Abbott will formally announce the news at 12:30 p.m.
Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno issued a statement.
“Our Administration is extremely grateful to Tracye McDaniel for her tireless efforts to market New Jersey as a prime business destination and to help attract businesses here over the last four years,” Guadagno said. “Tracye’s leadership at ChooseNJ helped grow the non-profit into a nationally recognized model for economic development and, while we are sad to see her leave the Partnership for Action team, she will always have a home here in the Garden State.”
