U.S. President Barack Obama will be in the Garden State on Monday to visit troops at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, according to reports.
From The Record:
“President Obama will travel to the Maguire-Dix-Lakehurst military base in New Jersey on Monday to thank troops and their families for their service and sacrifice, a White House official said.
Details of the trip were not immediately available, but Obama cancelled a trip in October he had planned to make for a fund-raiser in Union County because of urgent meetings with his advisers about the Ebola outbreak.
The military base in Burlington County that he will visit Monday is the nation’s only one serving three branches of the armed forces — the Air Force, Army and Navy – and is home to more than 38,000 active-duty, reserve and guard service members, civilians and family members, according to the base website.”
Obama’s last scheduled trip to the state was supposed to take place on Oct. 8, when he was expected to attend a fund-raiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee where attendees were paying between $10,000 and $32,400.
