Sources: State Director Brubaker leaves Menendez

Sources close to U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) say State Director Paul Brubaker no longer works for the U.S. Senator.

The parting of ways between Menendez and Brubaker occurred today, a source told PolitickerNJ.

Brubaker was let go, sources say.

At this time, sources could not speculate on his replacement but interviews are underway.

A former communications director for U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-9), Brubaker (above, left) was a Star-Ledger reporter prior to getting into government.

A Montclair resident, married with three children, he first worked for Menendez as the senator’s communications director, signing on after the 2012 Democratic Primary.

Last year, he replaced retiring State Director Mike Soliman, and Menendez replaced him with current Communications Director Steven Sandberg.
