There’s a 24th District Assembly seat that soon will be vacant with the retirement of Assemblywoman Alison McHose and right now two names stand forth as potential successors.
According to Sussex County GOP Chair Ailish Hambel, Sussex Freeholder Gail Phoebus is going to run.
So is Marie Bilik, former mayor of Green and present Executive Director of The National School Board Association.
“I stay neutral,” Hambel told PolitickerNJ. “I will announce the convention pretty soon after Alison resigns.”
A source close to district politics told PolitickerNJ that Phoebus will have the edge for establishment organization Republican support.
McHose took a job this year as administrator of Franklin Borough.
