Former Massachusetts governor and two-time Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will not make a third run for the White House, according to reports.
Romney is expected to announce the news to supporters with an 11 a.m. conference call.
The development could bode well for New Jersey’s own Gov. Chris Christie, seen as one of three establishment front-runners mulling bids for the 2016 nomination. With Romney out, that group shrinks to two — Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who announced late last year he was forming an exploratory campaign to study a run.
