
This Wednesday the soprano singer Deborah Voigt will appear at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble to discuss her new memoir, Call Me Debbie: True Confessions of a Down-to-Earth Diva. Ms. Voigt, who had struggled with obesity her entire life and underwent successful gastric bypass surgery in 2004, a risky endeavor for any singer, details that experience and her ensuing alcoholism, from which she has since recovered. Ms. Voigt will talk about her book with the biographer Brian Kellow, a features editor for Opera News.
