Democrats’ selection of Philadelphia for their 2016 Democratic National Convention spilled into Camden this afternoon with a positive reception from Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli.
“Today’s announcement is great news for Camden County,” Cappelli said in a statement. “In 2016, we will see an influx of hundreds of thousands of conventioneers from across the nation. Our hotels, restaurants and stores should prepare themselves for the crowds that will descend on our county.
“We look forward to showcasing all that Camden County has to offer from our incredible waterfront in Camden to the shops and eateries of Collingswood, Haddonfield and Cherry Hill,” the freeholder director added. “The convention’s economic impact will stretch into Camden County and will be a boon for our local economy. As President Kennedy said, a rising tide lifts all boats and we are ready to rise to the occasion and welcome visitors from across the nation to Camden County.”
