Delayed Opening Tuesday for Non-Essential State Employees

Bracing for another snowfall, the State of New Jersey authorized a delayed opening of 11 a.m. for all non-essential state employees on Tuesday, February 17.

Essential employees should report to work on their regular schedule, according to an email from the Governor’s Office.

“This evening’s storm is expected to bring snow and freezing temperatures into tomorrow morning across the state, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions for the morning commute,” said Governor Chris Christie. “I encourage all New Jerseyans to exercise caution as they drive tonight and tomorrow morning and, if possible, to stay off the roads so our transportation crews can do their job.”

Beginning tonight, a winter storm is expected to bring snow and freezing temperatures, producing hazardous travel conditions and affecting transportation across the state. Current road conditions are available at the New Jersey Department of Transportation website at www.NJ511.org.
