A slew of parties last night signaled the unofficial start of New York Fashion Week, while shows began today.
As always, the fall and winter collections will be shown in frigid weather, with stylistas struggling to stay upright in their stilettos when dashing from show to show. On the bright side, the slippery conditions enable us to take in the year’s best outerwear in all its puffy, fur-laced glory.
At 114 Prince St., though, ice was actually being celebrated. Not literal ice, but the kind that adorns the necks, ear lobes, fingers and wrists of the city’s most fortunate residents. It was the grand opening of David Yurman’s new SoHo boutique, and socialites and stars alike gathered to pay tribute to the storied diamond dispenser.
