There’s something about Passaic County and former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Phil Murphy.

He shows up there a lot, and maybe that’s because he’s laying the groundwork for a 2017 gubernatorial campaign and Passaic is home to Democratic State Party Chairman John Currie.

That’s Murphy tonight at the Tide’s Estate partying with Currie (center), Passaic County Freeholder Hector Lora (far left), Freeholder John Bartlett (far right), Clifton Councilwoman Lauren Murphy (left), and Freeholder candidate Sandi Lazzara (right).

Murphy wasn’t the only potential future gubernatorial candidate in the room.

Also spied at the Tides: Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-19).
