As fashion trends come and go, one thing is always in style for New Yorkers: complaining about tourist traps.
But last night, some of the most style-conscious people in the world stood grinning from ear to ear in front of the Statue of Liberty on a cruise down the Hudson River. They even allowed themselves to be photographed while doing so. So many photos were snapped and posted to Instagram, in fact, you would be forgiven for wondering if someone had brought along *gasp* a selfie stick.
So what led these coolest-of-the-cool fashion types to let loose embrace their inner tourist? It was a Chanel dinner cruise, of course, co-sponsored by V magazine and hosted by Karl Lagerfeld, in honor of his Métiers d’Arts show, which takes place at the Park Avenue Armory tonight.
Photos of the event from professional agencies are skint (V must be saving them for their own pages). But thankfully, plenty of snap-happy social media lovers were invited, and their Instagram pics show that a good time was had by all:
Paris Hilton was lucky enough to be picked as a DJ for the event.
