One of the New Jersey fun facts about Democrat’s selection of Philadelphia for the 2016 convention included the presence throughout negotiations of a former familiar Newark political face.

Desiree Peterkin Bell, once Mayor Cory Booker’s communications director, worked as Philly Mayor Michael Nutter’s lead city negotiator with national Democrats to secure her city as Democrats’ launch pad to the general election.

Peterkin Bell (pictured above, behind the mayor, celebrating today’s news) has worked for Nutter now since 2010, and also served as senior Pennsylvania adviser for President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

Another New Jersey fun fact concerning the 2016 Democratic National Convention?
