SATURDAY February 7
Following in the footsteps of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club–the brave (or idiotic) swimmers who plunge into the sea every New Years Day–many runners will sprint one mile in their skivvies this Saturday during the Cupid’s Undie Run. The annual fundraiser kicks off from the nightclub Stage 48 and ends at the Brass Monkey bar in the Meatpacking District (Hot Toddy time). All proceeds benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation so grab your cheesiest Valentine-themed knickers, head to the starting line, and get ready to run like your life depends on it. Stage 48, 605 West 48th, 12-4 p.m., cupidsundierun.com/city/newyork/, $55 to run & free to watch
SUNDAY February 8
No valentine? No problem. Put down the tub of Cherry Garcia, pause the rom-com you’ve watched again and again, and head to the Queer Expression Valentine’s Fair. Treat yourself to an early Valentine’s celebration by spending the day surrounded by 30 amazing artists, a live DJ, and a full bar. Ever wanted to try on vintage clothing or get your body painted? This is your chance. You can even participate in a Tarot card reading or get a quick haircut (But, seriously, you look swell; your do has nothing to do with being single). 622 DeGraw St (Brooklyn), festival begins at 11am, artsandqueers.com, free but a two-drink minimum
