In a paper presented at Museums and the Web this past April in Chicago, Maria Roussou and her colleagues discussed how digital storytelling can enrich the museum experience for both in-gallery visitors as well as digital audiences. Focused on the central question of how museums can author digital storytelling experiences that cater to various needs while still maintaining scientific integrity, Roussou and her co-authors offer compelling examples through a series of participatory design workshops held at high-profile cultural sites such as the Acropolis Museum in Greece, the archaeological site of Çatalhöyük in Turkey, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
