Aspirational Pinterest (PINS) shopping is a great way to kill a few minutes—O.K., maybe a few hours—but sometimes, it’s nice to actually make a purchase.
Later this month, Neiman Marcus merchandise will be available via buyable pins on Pinterest, the department store announced today. Like that luxury caftan or princess-esque white dress you just pinned to your board? You’ll soon be able to purchase it via a few quick taps on any iOS-enabled device.
“We know that Pinterest is one of our customers’ favorite ways to engage with our brand,” Wanda Gierhart, Neiman Marcus Group’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Giving her the ability to purchase a product, as she discovers and is inspired by it, only enhances her shopping experience.”
The addition of Pinterest-enabled purchasing isn’t Neiman Marcus’s first foray into the world of technology. The store debuted its own shopping app last year, and, just a few months ago, made its Instagram account shopable via LIKEtoKNOW.it.
“We look forward to using this cutting edge technology,” Ms. Gierhart said at the time of Neiman Marcus’s app launch, “to make our customer relationships even stronger.”
