The story on this drenched Election Day in closely watched LD20, as elsewhere, is incredibly low turnout.
“The African American districts that normally would turn out numbers in the Elizabeth Port for the County Machine are dead,” said an Elizabeth source. “I have never seen a turnout this low. It’s worse than last June. I was number 32 in my district. That’s a quarter of the vote that normally goes out. There is zero GOTV citywide. We are working our ones and contacts heavy. I am driving my regulars to the polls.”
