26 miles of new rail tunnels have just been completed underneath London, and new footage from a drone gives an unparalleled look at the massive undertaking. While the project itself might be more important to the millions of Londoners who will soon take advantage of Crossrail, the new east-west railway that was just completed, this drone’s-eye-view of the scale of this civil engineering effort is just staggering to watch.
This isn’t just for transportation wonks: Once you get past the video’s psuedo-EDM soundtrack, this high speed look at “Europe’s biggest construction project” (with a $22 billion price tag) is really something worth seeing. Crossrail is set to open in 2018.
