One of the great things about Banza is that chickpeas are a super clean and efficient source of protein, especially when compared to chicken or beef. We love a good meatball as much as the next person, but growing chickpeas is just a helluva lot better for the earth than raising livestock.

Another company shaking up the world of animal protein is Exo. They make delicious protein bars out of crickets. Before you jump out of your seat, just know that 80% of the world already eats insects. Not to mention, crickets need 2,000x less water to produce the same amount of protein as a cow. We love when other food companies are thinking about the big picture. That can’t happen enough.
