Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco today announced that he will ask the Board of Chosen Freeholders to approve the hiring of James Koth as Bergen County Parks Director.
Koth is a licensed Landscape Architect and Certified Public Works Manager. As Director of Public Works for the City of Englewood, Koth managed the city parks system, including the development and redesign of the city’s largest park. As Vice President of Operations, Maintenance and Public Safety for the Hudson River Park Trust, Koth oversaw operation, management, maintenance and improvement projects for parks. In the same role, Koth also planned and managed logistics for large-scale parks events including the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks, Fleet Week, and numerous annual festivals and concert series. Koth will begin as Acting Parks Director on July 20, 2015.
“Jim Koth brings more than two decades of experience in public management and landscape design to Bergen County,” said County Executive Tedesco. “He will be instrumental in leading dynamic improvements at the Van Saun Zoo and throughout the county, as we work to make Bergen County parks the best in the state of New Jersey.”
